I'm not sure about you guys, but I am not keen on pre-releases AT ALL. I don't know why, I just refuse to download one. Not just because you can't host a server for it.
Oh, and jeb_ said this:

Minecon is the 18th of November, and as you know the full release date of Minecraft is the 11th. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!
Not to mention that it's a beta of a beta, which is absolutely pointless...

Betaception. Anywho, I am kinda on both sides. They are glitchy and such, but it is fun to see what is upcoming. I also don't even end up playing them for more than a day.

I agree with dunny, why would you pre-realease up until the launch date? isnt the whole point of a launch to be surprised with an epic game? the pre-realeases just kind of ruin the surprise and excitement of an update.

due to the atrocity of 1.8, i no longer look forward to any future update of minecraft and do not care enough to download another pre-release

theres a program called MCNostalgia that lets you backdate your minecraft to any of the past minecrafts even alpha versions. You could probably find it just search it up on google.
