| Hey, everyone. I am posting this thread to find out what your opinion of indie games are, your favorite ones (Excluding Minecraft), any you're currently anticipating, and your favorite indie companies.
P.S. For those of you who don't know, "Indie" is short for "independent," so indie games are games that have little outside funding and are made by a small company. Mojang is a good example, and one you should all know. Oxeye is another that you may know if you know about Cobalt (Or one of their other games).
So I'll start. One game I'm eagerly waiting the release of is "Scrolls," by Mojang. Scrolls is designed almost like a "card game," where instead of cards, you have scrolls (which is where the name comes from). It's not like a regular card game, though. It's designed to have random events, different stages, etc., along with elements that would be nearly impossible to do with physical cards, and sequences that would probably confuse players if it weren't automated. This is the game I'd most like to be released right now. I'm jealous at Minecon-goers, as they got to play the first playable alpha at Minecon.
Thoughts?

| I'm not an avid indie gamer, but my favourite non-Minecraft indie game is Super Meat Boy. It's addictive because it's bloody hard. :p | |

| I haven't had a good look at the rest of the Indie gaming industry. So, what other games would you recommend I try? Also, regarding the Humble Indie Bundle, have you found it entertaining so far? | |

| that Skull Girls game looks pretty cool. i think it's an indie game.
i played catacomb smash or snatch or whatever it was. it's cool, but there's hardly anything to do besides kill those things and get the centerpiece stuff.

| My favorite indie game right now is called Realm of the Mad God, I found it on Kongregate but I think its on steam now. I've been addicted to it for like a week now. description: Cooperative MMO shooter! Play together with thousands of others in a frantic real-time bullet hell game. Dodge blasts from devious monsters while you work with friendly teammates to take down the Mad God himself. Realm is a major advance for MMOs, putting dozens of players into the middle of an intense action game straight out of the arcades. | |

| The only other indie game I actually have is Blocks That Matter. In this game, Alexey Pajitnov (guy who made Tetris) and Notch are kidnapped and you play as a robot that they created that has to work through block-based puzzle levels to save them. It's not a bad game.
Two indie games that I'm interested in are Pez, a 2D platformer with 3D elements (but I don't have an Xbox) and Tribes: Ascend, a free multiplayer FPS (but I don't have good internet).

| What do you do in Super Meat Boy? I'm not a huge Steam gamer. The only game I play from steam is MW2 and Alien Swarm with Matt at like 3:00am. | |

| it's like an extremely simple mmorpg. you pick your class, join a server, and just go around killing monsters and stuff. there are like 15 or so classes, but you need to unlock all of them by leveling up. on the server you can go do the quests, which are really just arrows showing you where enemies your level are, or team up with some other people and do whatever the group decides. the max level is twenty, which is really easy to reach, but you lose your character when he/she dies. so, you have to start over every time you die.

it's extremely simple, and that's why i like it.

| When you die, do you lose your character classes along with your character and levels, or once you unlock the character class, you can use it whenever? | |

| Like you have an account and you create a character. You play as one character at a time (unless you want to buy extra slots) and all your fame and class quests are saved to your account. You die a bunch and it gets annoying but thats how you get fame and unlock classes on your account. You can use fame to buy item in game.
The best way to learn about it is to just play it, i suggest playing it on Kongregate because you have the Kongregate chat next to it to ask for help or talk to other people playing.

| I don't know. I like it. Despite the fact that I have no idea how to log out. Or get back to the Realm from the Nexus. What do? | |

| you just go towards the hall type place where everyone is. there should be some littlen cave-looking things with names under them. you stand on/near it and click "enter" in the corner of the screen.
you can refresh anytime to get back to the nexus it's really useful if you're just about to die.
you log out by clicking "sign out" or something similar on the main menu
@warptrap i have 500 fame already. i might be able to start a guild if i continue playing, which i haven't been doing lately ^^;

| Okay. I play the Steam version, and there's no option to log out, just exit. =/
I like it, though. I think it's pretty freakin' awesome.

| Once you get a level 20 it's a lot easier to level up, a good plan is to collect good items for the class your going to be next. It helps a lot to start of at level one with +15 armor or a 70 dmg staff. | |

| Yeah, I've been playing on the USSouth server. I've fought Oryx three times, but only survived 1.
This game is addictive.
