" Most of the basics of the game engine is in place, so it’s time to flesh this game out into something more gamey. More content, more exploration, more things to do, and interesting combat! Once this update is out, there will only some tweaks, optimizations and code cleanups left to the core game before we can call it a full release.
We’ve got a list of some 40+ things we want to add to the game, some small, some big. Some huge. We’ve finished a fair number of the items, but there’s still a significant amount of work left. While I can’t reveal the date yet for various reasons, we do have a release date for the Adventure Update in mind, and we’re hoping we’ll be able to hit it.
Jens and I are keeping the exact contents of the update secret, but we do leak some information every now and then to keep people interested and to stop us from going insane. For the most immediate spoilers, you can follow us on Twitter (@notch and @jeb_), or on Google+ (+Markus Persson and +Jens Bergensten).
Here are a few of the things we’ve revealed so far:

There is a mod for those NPC villages, critical hits? I fo not aprove such thing, but it's nice, but the next thing we know is that we will have health bars over our heads and spiders will have them to. (: Springitng will be usefull. I wonder what's the new biome code. o:

1 i think they migh be for the hardcore/realistic mode where you need to eat 2 agreed 3 no clue 4 i don't think so, but the finished game comes out in november

1-The Ham might be the Stamina that hes hading, to gain stamina you eat food, this will regain health and tamina I guess. 2- I know right? 3- Probably 4- Let us wait and see.

I'm hoping they'll stay away from the Runescape type game, and stick with the classic minecraft everyone loves. Make it less RPG and more mining and building. Nawmean?

Hey guys I got more info on the 1.8. In 1.8 we will have a new com bat system as you may of known, but did you know if you sprint and attack you send your enemys "flying"? According to Notch's twitter he was talking about some "Ederman" probably a new mob, but here's what he said about him: "The Endermen are peaceful. If you look straight at them, they freeze and look at you. When you look away again, they run fast. And teleport. They run TOWARDS you, not away. So if you happen to look at one, do not look away."~Notch So I guess we will have a new mob.
Also this is my teory that we will have a new dimension, since the Aether mod is so popular and Notch is adding the so called "Enderman" I think they're the man from the Ender not sure if it's true just my idea on it

That mob.. I like it. It'll be sooo sweet!!! I can't wait, it'll probably be used for hunting and stuff, thinking maybe a bird type animal? Just a guess.
BUT. Aether plugin is just like the mod, except for servers like ours. I have it, though it broke -.- If I were to update it , it'd be fix and we can use the aether just as we use the Nether, but I don't see a point as of now.
