HI!
Today I'm gonna teach you an effect (yes this is for noobs who have no idea what to do)
First, however, I want you to have already got the hang of EASING!
If you do NOT know what that is, or aren't good at it yet, LEAVE AND GO READ ZEDS TUT!
NOW! There are 2 methods for fading. I'll explain the first and then the second capeesh?
First Method:
The first method is relatively simple. All it is, is changing the colour of your stick figure.
(Yes I will add screen shots later)
First: Have your stick figure in a normal position, or whatever position you want him to be in when he fades.
Next, after selecting the figure you want to fade, select the COLOUR button.
Now you want to pick WHITE. do NOT MAKE YOUR FIGURE WHITE YET, JUST SELECT THE COLOUR!
After choosing white, select customize colour.
Now you will see a type-in section that is called Luminosity. At the moment it should be 0, or ZERO.
What you want to do is change the Luminosity (now known as Lum) to 60. Once you have done this click ADD TO CUSTOM COLOURS. Now change the Lum to 120, add it to custom colours, then finally change it to 180, and add it to custom colours. Now you have all the colours you need for fading YAY!
Now first frame, change your stickman to the colour with Lum of 180. Next frame, 120, next frame 60, then depending on whether you will use the stickman again, you can choose to delete it OR change it to colour white!
Now thats the long basic way of fading. However it is HARDER if you have a multi-coloured background. I'm going to explain why because it would take too long so lets show you the OTHER method there is when dealing with fading!
This method is called TRANSPARENCIES
This is a very simple method where you use a stk file which has many lines in it. (screen shots later people...)
You change the Transparency stick into the colour of the background. Next, you put it in the FRONT of whatever you want to fade. Put it in a horizontal or vertical position, its up to you, but it must be EXACTLY 90 DEGREES OTHERWISE THIS LOOKS S***Y! got it? great!
Now, after applying the Transparency stk, do next frame (duh) THEN, put in the opposite position!
(i.e. you put it in a horizontal position in frame 1, put it in a vertical position in frame 2! and vice versa obviously) REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE TRANSPARENCY STK TO THE COLOUR OF THE BACKGROUND! This is a must.
after that, third frame just change you figure to white or delete it. Done! This is a QUICK method of fading, for when you want the stickman to disappear and reappear quickly, but this can be used for any type of fading you want to do.
